Vancouver is in the Pacific Time Zone.
Passport and Visa Information
Don’t forget to ensure you have a valid passport at all times. In some cases, a visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA) may be needed. Be sure to check current processing times so you will have the proper documents for travel prior to JSM. Weather
In July, Vancouver is warm and comfortable. July is the least rainy month in a city famous for its rain. Visitors can expect rain about seven days out of 31 in July. When packing for Vancouver, we recommend checking the weather beforehand. Websites providing basic weather information include www.weather.gov and www.weather.com.

Parking
There are several parking garages near the Vancouver Convention Centre, including at both convention center buildings, East and West. More information is available from the convention center.
Suggested Attire
We suggest dressing in light-weight layers or business casual clothes and comfortable shoes for walking around the city and convention center. Be prepared with a light-weight jacket or sweater for evenings and when attending sessions and meetings, as the convention center and hotels are air-conditioned.

Vancouver Attractions
Part urban getaway and part outdoor adventure, Vancouver has something for everyone. Take this opportunity to explore the downtown and surrounding city attractions. Book a whale-watching trip, see the latest exhibits at the Vancouver Aquarium, explore Grouse Mountain or Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, or just stick close by with a visit to Stanley Park. Child Care
We have partnered with leading child care provider KiddieCorp to offer JSM attendees care for children 6 months to 12 years old. Care will be located within the Vancouver Convention Centre for $12/hour. Snacks and beverages will be included, but meals should be provided by parents. Details, pricing, and reservation information are available on the KiddieCorp–JSM 2018 web page. Space is limited, so reserve early.

Travel Information |
Airport
If you're arriving by air, you'll most likely be flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Located just 25 minutes from downtown, there are more than a dozen international flights in and out of YVR every day, with 22 bound for the United States.

Car Rental

Public Transportation
Be sure to check out Vancouver’s public transportation system, TransLink, to easily get around the city, including the easy and inexpensive SkyTrain Canada Line route with access from downtown to the airport.

If you have a disability that may impede your participation, check the box during the registration process that asks if you require special assistance and include a statement regarding your needs. The ASA Meetings Department will contact you prior to JSM, but appropriate accommodations cannot be ensured without prior notification.

Hotels
Most JSM events will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre; however, some will be held at the Fairmont Waterfront. If you have trouble walking long distances and/or will use a wheelchair, we recommend staying at the Fairmont Waterfront or Pan Pacific Hotel. If you plan to use a scooter, we recommend staying at the Pan Pacific Hotel. There is an enclosed walkway between the Pan Pacific and the convention center that will allow easy access between the two.
There are special housing blocks set up at both the Fairmont Waterfront and the Pan Pacific Hotel to accommodate JSM attendees with mobility needs. Please call the housing bureau directly to make reservations (800) 967-8852 or email JSM@Experient-inc.com.
