Statisticians and data scientists often use terminology such as "outlier", "bias", and "inference", but what happens when these terms have a direct impact on one's life? Many women in these fields have had to overcome the impact and repercussions of bias from colleagues and/or superiors based on one's gender, but one can delve more finely and recognize various sub-categorizations among us that further separate and potentially discriminate us from one another in a detrimental manner. Panelists from diverse backgrounds will offer candid commentary about their experiences and discuss how to overcome perceptions and biases perpetuated within and throughout the broader society.
