Knowing When to Leave (303334)

There are many good reasons to leave. The environment may be toxic; colleagues may be dismissive or oppressive; intellectual challenges may be limited so that you are no longer be learning and thriving. Sometimes one must let go in order for a new opportunity to appear. Leaving is scary, particularly when your economic and/or intellectual well-being depend on your current paycheck, and you don’t have an alternative in the bag. I draw on personal experiences in discussing the challenges and opportunities that come with leaving.
