I defended my PhD a few weeks before giving birth to my first baby. I had assumed I would want a full-time position but after her birth decided that full-time work was not right for me at that time. In the thirteen years since I have negotiated a variety of part-time positions including my current reduced load tenure-track appointment.

In this speed session I will share with you my ideas for negotiating part-time professional level work. I will also share how a willingness to hire a statistician part-time can be a win for an industrial, academic or research institution.
