Developing Inferential Procedures by the Generalized Pivotal Quantity (303272)

In this talk, I will present our research work on developing inferential procedures based on the generalized pivotal quantity (GPQ). As the usual pivotal quantity, a GPQ can be utilized for hypothesis testing and confident interval estimation. The GPQ approach is extremely fruitful for complex problems where the standard procedures are difficult to apply. I will address the construction of the GPQs for correlation coefficients under the multivariate models and show their applications to several practical problems. In addition, I will also consider the GPQ approach for making inferences on the parameters in a Weibull distribution and a two-parameter exponential distribution.
