Description

Football is a complex game with many factors affecting the final outcome. The speakers explore (1) how the decision to go for two points after a touchdown should be employed, (2) the role of turnovers in explaining wins by underdogs and (3) factors that relate to who wins a game that goes into sudden death overtime. In the NFL missed field goals are not returned. The team gets the ball at the 20 yard line or the line of scrimmage at the attempt. In Canadian football the kicking team gets a point if the missed field goal is not returned. Repercussions of this rule will be explored
