Student Paper Travel Awards

Undergraduate or graduate students at any level, as well as 2024 graduates who submitted an abstract by June 30, 2024, were eligible to submit a written paper to be considered for a student paper travel award.

To Be Considered

Papers must have presented a solution to or a clear advance in a real-world health policy problem. Thorough and appropriate statistical analyses of health policy problems, issues, or questions pertinent to the goals of the ASA Health Policy Statistics Section were particularly encouraged. Identification of an important problem, correct application of study design and statistical methods, and clear interpretation of study results with discussion of potential policy impacts were assessed as part of scoring.

The research proposed or described did not have to be complete, but applicants must have submitted a draft paper that described the planned research and nature of the intended health policy application(s).
