The Gini coefficient is a way to measure how equally a resource is distributed across a population. A coefficient of zero indicates complete equality while the closer the coefficient is to one, the greater the concentration of the resource in the hands of a small group.
How equal is the distribution of income in our nation for example between city dwellers and agricultural and fisheries workers?
Mathematics Awareness Month is sponsored each year by the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics to recognize the importance of mathematics through written materials and an accompanying poster that highlight mathematical developments and applications in a particular area. |
