Statfest

StatFest is a one-day conference aimed at encouraging undergraduate students who are members of historically underrepresented groups to pursue careers and graduate studies in the statistical sciences.

StatFest includes presentations from established professionals, academic leaders, and current graduate students that help attendees understand the opportunities and routes for success in the field. Panel forums provide information and tips for having a rewarding graduate student experience, achieving success as an academic statistician, and finding opportunities in the private and government arenas.

Diversity Mentoring Program (DMP)

The Diversity Mentoring Program (DMP) offers mentoring, networking, and leadership and skills development opportunities that foster community growth and ensure a diverse profession. The DMP brings historically underrepresented undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students, as well as early-career professionals, together with more senior statisticians in academia, government, and the private sector in a structured program at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM). Mentees in the program receive travel assistance to attend JSM and the DMP.
