General Information
What is the status of WSDS 2025?
After much consideration, the American Statistical Association has determined the best and most responsible decision is to hold the upcoming WSDS 2025 as a virtual conference. This is due to the ongoing government shutdown and anticipated flight cancelations because of the Federal Aviation Administration’s mandated cuts to flight traffic.
What dates and times will the virtual event take place?
With the move to a virtual conference, the conference dates will remain the same: November 12–14, 2025. However, programming and session times have been updated. The most current schedule can be found in the online program. All session times are provided for the Eastern Time Zone.
Should I cancel my travel arrangements?
If you have already made your travel arrangements for Cincinnati, Ohio, please contact your travel provider to investigate your cancelation options.
Who can participate in the WSDS 2025 virtual event?
All registrants. You may register for the event through Friday, November 14.
Is registration open for the WSDS 2025 virtual event?
Registration is open and will remain so through Friday, November 14. Please send an email to the Meetings Department with questions.
How do I access the virtual event?
Details about how to access the virtual WSDS 2025 conference will be made available to all registrants as the conference approaches.
What platform will be used for the 2025 Women in Statistics and Data Science?
The virtual event will take place via Zoom and the WSDS app. Scan the QR code below to download the app or download the app directly.
Program Information
What portion of the WSDS program will be available virtually?
The virtual conference will include a short course, general sessions, concurrent invited and contributed sessions, and e-poster/speed sessions.
Short Course – Register Now!
One WSDS short course, The Statistician’s Storybook: Crafting Accessible and Engaging Presentations, will be presented virtually on November 12. Register online or send an email to the Meetings Department with questions.
E-Poster/Speed
E-poster/speed presentations will consist of two parts. Presenters will give a live, 3–4-minute overview during the scheduled concurrent session, and then a PDF of their poster will be posted to the WSDS online program and app for viewing at any time.
Presenter Information
What are my roles and responsibilities during my session?
The sessions will run essentially as they would have at the face-to-face meeting. Please be prepared to share your presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, PDF, etc.) with the audience. Never fear—should any problems arise, we will do our best to assist you.
I’m an e-poster/speed presenter. How do I present and upload my poster?

Session Chair Information
What are my roles and responsibilities during my session?
During your session, you will fulfill the same role as you would have during the face-to-face conference. This consists of the following:
- Introduce each speaker with name, affiliation, and talk title.
- Keep the session running on time.
- Manage Q&A.
Sponsor/Exhibitor Information
I’m a sponsor/exhibitor who signed up before the decision was made to go virtual. What are my options now?
All sponsors and exhibitors are being contacted individually to review options for the 2025 conference. We are working to create opportunities that will deliver value during the virtual event and possibly beyond.
