Submit an Abstract
Concurrent, Panel, and Speed Session Abstract Submission CLOSED
March 1 – April 14, 2023
We are calling for concurrent, panel, and speed session abstracts that provide opportunities for attendees to learn about important, modern, and cutting-edge research in statistics and data science while establishing fruitful multidisciplinary collaborations, supporting mentoring relationships, and establishing and sustaining successful careers. Submissions from senior, mid-level, and early-career statisticians and data scientists representing industrial, academic, and government communities are encouraged.
Concurrent and Panel Abstracts
Abstracts are being accepted for a limited number of sessions. Each presentation will focus on one of the following three broad themes:
- Knowledge
- Community
- Influence
Concurrent Sessions include up to three presentations per session (approximately 30 minutes each) and are grouped by the Women in Statistics and Data Science Executive Committee.
Panel Sessions are organized and chaired by the main submitting abstract organizer. This individual is responsible for selecting speakers to present during the session. The session can be organized as a traditional panel session with multiple panelists discussing one topic or multiple presentations on a similar topic.
Speed Session Abstracts
Speed Sessions are a “hybrid” of a poster and presentation session and consist of 20 oral presentations of two minutes each that act as an “elevator pitch” for your poster presentation. The short oral presentations are followed by an electronic poster (e-poster) presentation at a later time. An e-poster is like a traditional poster presentation but presented on a large computer screen. The ASA uses 42” LCD displays in the landscape position.
A speed presentation also serves as an excellent teaching tool, allowing for direct and immediate feedback; broad exposure; and the ability to display extensive graphics, tables, and animations.
Registration is required for all concurrent, panel, and speed session participants.
