Maximizing Quality Outcomes for Multilingual Questionnaire Pretesting (303713)
*Mandy Sha, RTI InternationalThis poster will focus on the use of quality criteria to maximize the credibility, analyzability, transparency, and ultimate usefulness of qualitative research for improving survey and public opinion research. Specifically, we discuss the application of the Total Quality Framework (TQF) to multilingual questionnaire pretesting, which is often based on qualitative data from cognitive interviewing, usability testing, focus groups, translation, and expert review. Even though questionnaire design and evaluation are conducted in multiple languages, researchers who adopt the TQF can better manage the quality on the study and do not need to speak multiple languages.
