Title: WITHDRAWN A Comparison of Online Versus In-Person Examination During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Author(s): Jeffrey Landgren

Keywords: COVID-19; pandemic; online examination
Abstract:

The COVID-19 pandemic forced academia to move entirely to online during the Spring of 2020. The switch to online teaching included online examination. In the Fall of 2020 most universities continued an online component that then continued into the Spring of 2021. To tell a part of the story about what occurred during the pandemic, a quantitative investigation is developed to compare online versus In-person examination. Courses such as Precalculus, Calculus I, Calculus III, and Differential equations were used in the study from the University of North Georgia. Preliminary computations highlight anomalies in examination results that often show improvement in online scores when compared with In-person examinations. Advantages and disadvantages are laid out for each exam format.
