Registration is closed.
Onsite registration will open at the hotel on Wednesday, October 31 at 7am.

Registration fees include lunches and the Thursday evening reception. Please indicate during the registration process your plans to attend as well as your meal preferences.

Short Courses

Two short courses will be held on Wednesday, October 31 from 8:30am to 12:00pm and one short course will be held on Saturday, November 3 from 1:00pm - 4:30pm. Main registration is required in order to purchase a ticket for a short course. For more information about the courses being offered, please visit the Short Course webpage of the conference site.

• Cancellations received by October 15, 2012 will be refunded less 20% all items.
• NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER October 15, 2012.

Avoid Headaches! Plan Ahead!

• You can expect delays due to heavy volume near registration deadlines. Register early to avoid delays.
• To avoid multiple registrations and multiple charges, only submit your registration ONCE. Please do not fax a registration that you have also submitted by mail.
• Know your organization's reimbursement policies before you register, to avoid later problems.
• Payment must accompany registrations; purchase orders are not accepted. Registrations received without payment will not be processed.
• Be sure to submit check requests to your organization in sufficient time to meet registration deadlines.
• Using a departmental credit card? Don't forget to obtain permission from the cardholder in advance of registration deadlines, and be clear on what you may or may not charge to that card. The ASA's Registration Department can assist you if you need to use multiple forms of payment.

New Orleans has a subtropical climate with pleasant year-round temperatures. Temperatures range from the mid 40's in winter to the upper 90's in the summer, so visitors are encouraged to check the forecast before packing.

Travel Information

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport offers 116 average daily flights, 14,371 average daily seats and services 37 cities.

Airport Shuttle, Inc. is the official ground transportation for Armstrong International Airport, with service to and from New Orleans' hotels and other designated locations. Fare is $20 per person one way and a discounted $38 per person round trip is now available.

Taxi rates are $3.50 plus $2 per mile (.25 per one-eighth mile) thereafter. There is also an additional charge of $1.00 per passenger after the first passenger.

RTA services are $1.25, including bus transportation and the streetcar. Thirty-three bus and streetcar lines are running daily. Traveling to the United States

All visa applicants are advised to apply for their visa as soon as travel to the United States is contemplated, and not later than 3 - 4 months in advance. This means that international delegates should start the visa process during July - August 2012.

Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)

ESTA is a free, automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program. The ESTA application collects the same information collected on Form I-94W. ESTA applications may be submitted at anytime prior to travel, though it is recommended travelers apply when they begin preparing travel plans.

Letter of Invitation

If you request a Letter of Invitation for you to apply for a U.S. visa to travel to the United States and attend the 2012 International Conference on Survey Methods for Hard to Reach Populations, you must be a registrant for the Meeting. You are also requested to provide the following information by sending an email to H2R2012@amstat.org:

1. Your name as it appears on your passport
2. Position
3. Organization
4. Primary address including city, state, country, and zip
5. Passport number
6. Your meeting registration number

Upon receipt of this information, a Letter of Invitation for the Meeting will be sent in PDF format to your email given above. If you need the Letter of Invitation to be faxed to you, please provide a fax number. If you need an original hard copy, please notify H2R2012@amstat.org by July 31, 2012. This request will be processed within 10 business days.

Please be advised that the Letter of Invitation is to assist you in your visa application to attend the Meeting. ASA is not responsible for the issuance of a visa. You are advised to submit your visa application to the appropriate authorities as early as possible.
