A statistician working in a research environment is asked often to create summary tables for multiple projects and different purposes. Often, the requested table is a comparison of demographic variables across treatment arms, but not always. This talk will present an original summary table macro that is easy to use, transparent, flexible, dynamic, and includes p-values. The user merely inputs 15 parameters. Not only can the macro be used immediately for many types of situations and save time, but it also is written in a modular format so one can easily add to it, understand it, and replicate the approach for any macro. The talk will focus on 1) why this macro is needed in addition to what is already out there, 2) the overall approach to the macro, including details of the exact features it provides, 3) rules to using it, and 4) an example of parameter input and the resulting outputted rtf table. The talk will highlight techniques/ideas to keep in mind and use when trying to create any easy-to-use, flexible, dynamic macro. The talk also might touch on statistical topics such as when this macro should not be used (domain analysis situations).
