The Corsican Summer School on Modern Methods in Biostatistics and Epidemiology is a crucial event for learning more about statistical methods and recent advances in statistical methods for analysing excess risk. The fourth edition will take place from July 01st to 05th, 2024, in Corte (Corsica, France). This course will focus on: (i) the main statistical methods and the more recent advances in statistical methods for excess risk analysis, and (ii) the transfer of methods for net survival estimations to some other specific applications (clinical research, occupational epidemiology). The objectives of the course are: (i) to disseminate the concepts, methods and the more recent statistical tools to analyse net survival and excess mortality; (ii) to offer an informal and user-friendly setting of scientific exchanges in order to improve knowledge and practical skills to estimate, model, program, analyse and interpret results of excess risk analysis. The Summer School is aimed at biostatisticians, statisticians, epidemiologists; researchers and students; those working in a registry of cancer, of chronic disease or in any other field relevant to these methodologies and applications.

The International Conference on Robust Statistics (ICORS) and Data Science, Statistics & Visualization (DSSV) are a joint conference aimed to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the interplay of robust statistics, data analysis, computer science, and visualization, and to build bridges between these fields for interdisciplinary research. This includes theoretical and applied statisticians as well as data analysts from other fields, and leading experts as well as junior researchers and graduate students. The ENVR 2024 Workshop: Spatial Data Science for the Environment is the biannual meeting of the Statistics and the Environment Section of the American Statistical Association, to be held in Boulder, CO, on October 3-5, 2024. The goals of the workshop are to (i) facilitate interdisciplinary research, (ii) present state-of-the-art methods, and (iii) develop the next generation workforce by hosting a poster presentation and a short course. The workshop will provide a platform for discussions on the current and future state of spatial statistics, invite scientific presentations on interdisciplinary topics, and facilitate new research directions and groups. Part of the workshop will focus on the unique contributions of and career of Doug Nychka, who is and has been a central figure in the climate and environmental statistics communities. The program includes: A full-day shortcourse on "Spatial Linear Models for Environmental Data" taught by Jay Ver Hoef, Dale Zimmerman, and Michael Dumelle. The course will closely follow the outline of their recently- published book of the same name. Five scientific plenary sessions including presentations from 17 renowned scholars. The Friday afternoon session will directly discuss the contributions and influence of Doug Nychka, and the final Saturday morning session will feature Doug Nychka and colleagues Andy Finley and Joe Guinness. A Friday afternoon poster session A Friday evening dinner celebration An optional hike to round out the conference at 12 noon on Saturday.
