ASA SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Deadline: September 12, 2006
The ASA is seeking an executive director to begin in 2007. The ideal candidate will have an innovative vision of the goals of the Association and the statistics profession. The executive director acts as the secretary of the Association, serves as a nonvoting member of the Board of Directors, and is a national spokesperson for the ASA. Executive Director Information.
JSM 2007 CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE PROPOSALS - Deadline: September 30, 2006
Continuing Education course proposals for JSM 2007 are due no later than September 30, 2006. For submission information, please access the Proposal Guidelines (aka Blue Book). Questions may be directed to Rick Peterson or Madge Haven.
CALL FOR 2006 L.J. SAVAGE AWARDS - Deadline: September 30, 2006
SBSS is pleased to announce two Savage Awards for outstanding Bayesian dissertations in Theory and Methods and Applied Methodology. More information.
PUBLISH JSM PROCEEDINGS - Deadline: October 20, 2006
If you orally presented your paper or poster at JSM 2006 or another pre-approved conference, you are authorized to publish in the JSM Proceedings. The submission site will be open to new papers until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, October 20, 2006. If you meet this deadline, you may revise your paper until 11:59 p.m. EST on November 15, 2006. When submitting, it is important that you follow the formatting rules. Templates in both Microsoft Word and LaTeX are available online. For more information, contact Val Snider.
RAO PRIZE NOMINATIONS - Deadline: December 1, 2006
Nominations for the 2007 Rao Prize are being accepted now until December 1, 2006. The prize recognizes innovations in the theory and practice of mathematical statistics, international leadership in statistical research, and pioneering contributions by a leader in the statistics field.

2006 FDA/INDUSTRY STATISTICS WORKSHOP - Washington, DC - September 27-29, 2006
The 10th annual FDA workshop will be held September 27-29 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC. This year's workshop boasts five plenary sessions and numerous parallel sessions co-chaired by statisticians from industry, academia, and the FDA. In addition, short courses on related topics will be offered the first day of the workshop for an additional fee.

CALL FOR PAPERS: STATISTICS IN BIOPHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH
The ASA's new journal, Statistics in Biopharmaceutical Research, is accepting manuscripts. Articles in the journal are expected to focus on the needs of researchers and applied statisticians in biopharmaceutical industries. The journal accepts papers discussing appropriate statistical methodology and information regarding the use of statistics in all phases of research, development, and practice in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, device, and diagnostics industries.
