PIPELINE PROBLEMS IN RECRUITING FEDERAL STATISTICIANS - August 6, 2:00 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.
Join this session sponsored by the Committee on Membership Retention and Recruitment, Section on Statistical Education, and the Committee on Career Development at The Washington State Convention & Trade Center, Room 3A. The prevailing sense in the federal statistical community is that a great generation of public statisticians is aging out of the system. This session discusses different facets of the pipeline that provides sound statistical advice for policy-making and program evaluation. The ASA/NCTM Joint Committee is pleased to sponsor this year's BAPS workshop on August 8 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Sheraton Seattle. The BAPS workshop is offered for AP Statisticsc teachers and consists of enrichment material just beyond the basic AP syllabus. The cost of the workshop is $30, which covers all materials. GETTING AROUND
Getting to and around Seattle is easy. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is located 20-30 minutes from downtown. Grayline of Seattle is the preferred airport shuttle, with shuttle service to many of the JSM hotels. Public buses are also available for transportation around the metro area.
