A year has passed since the release of the ASA Curriculum Guidelines for Undergraduate Programs in Statistical Science, and data science programs and courses are burgeoning across the United States. We asked educators Ben Baumer, Johanna Hardin, and Mine Çetinkaya-Rundel how they were changing their intro stats courses so students have "appropriate capacity to 'think with data'."

The 2016 Women in Statistics and Data Science Conference will feature keynote speakers Cynthia Clark, retired National Agricultural Statistics Service administrator; Stacy Lindborg, vice president of biostatistics at Biogen Idec; Wendy Martinez, director of the Mathematical Statistics Research Center at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Bin Yu, chancellor's professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Abstract submissions for speed sessions will be accepted until March 24. |
