The ASA will introduce a new program called Personal Skills Development (PSD) this year during the Joint Statistical Meetings. This program was designed to enhance and complement the current Continuing Education (CE) program and will include courses, workshops, and other training in effective communication, collaboration, leadership, and career planning. ASA Members Elected to NAS
Four ASA members were elected to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) recently, a private, nonprofit institution established by congressional charter. NAS recognizes achievement in science by election to membership, and—with other organizations—provides science, technology, and health policy advice to the federal government and other organizations. ASA members honored are Emery N. Brown, Massachusetts General Hospital; Emmanuel J. Candès, Stanford University; Judea Pearl, University of California, Los Angeles (emeritus); and Bin Yu, University of California, Berkeley. Read more.
