Submit an Abstract
For those speaking as part of a pre-organized session on the invited program, SDSS will accept abstracts from October 10 to November 11, 2019 (11:59 p.m. ET).
Contributed Paper and E-Poster Abstracts
Contributed paper* abstract submissions for SDSS 2020, which will be refereed unlike in previous years, will be accepted for consideration from December 4, 2019, to January 30, 2020 (11:59 p.m. ET). Submissions may be modified until the January 30 deadline. Decisions will be provided in early March, prior to the deadline for submitting e-posters (which are not refereed).
E-poster** abstracts will be accepted for consideration from December 4, 2019, to March 10, 2020 (11:59 p.m. ET).
New for SDSS 2020: All contributed paper submissions will be refereed. The top-ranked submissions will be accepted for presentation at the conference. Past participants encouraged this change so SDSS would be more aligned with the culture existing at many prestigious computer science and machine learning conferences.
Each contributed paper submission will consist of a 2,000-character abstract overview and two-page PDF document giving an extended abstract.
Please use one of the templates available here for formatting your extended contributed paper abstract submission for SDSS 2020. There are (3) options available:
- LaTeX Template for Papers – Download .zip
- Overleaf project – Template please check your PDF for spurious characters and fix them before submission.
- Microsoft Word Template for Papers – Download .docx
Any references and figures should be included within the two pages. As explained above, these submissions may be modified from December 4, 2019, until January 30, 2020.
For details, view SDSS 2020 Program Chair David Hunter’s Amstat News article about the new refereed contributed paper process.
All contributed paper and e-poster submissions should focus on any one of the following six tracks:
- Computational Statistics
- Data Visualization
- Machine Learning
- Practice and Applications
- Software & Data Science Technologies
Only online submissions will be accepted for consideration.
*Contributed paper presentations will be 15 or 30 minutes in length, with the ability to indicate a preference at the time of submission. All contributed paper submissions will be refereed.
**E-poster presentations will be up to 60 minutes in length.
