Symbulate: Probability Simulations in Python (306314)

Presentation

*Kevin Ross, Cal Poly

Keywords: probability, simulation, python

Is it possible to make simulation code match the language of probability? Symbulate is a Python library developed with this goal in mind. In Symbulate, probability spaces, random variables, and random processes are symbolic objects which can be manipulated, independently of their simulated realizations. The talk will address the pedagogical benefits of this framework for educating data scientists, as well as the integration with Jupyter notebooks.
