In the past decade, data visualization has become mainstream in journalism: graphs, maps, charts, and diagrams appear in many news stories, and they are successful at attracting the attention of readers. However, research shows that the general public often misinterprets even the simplest data graphics. This session will explain the scope of the problem and propose a few tentative solutions.
