Abstract:
|
While many government agencies publish statistics from their collected data as a matter of course, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) does not currently publish any data. Federal regulations stipulate that all FMC data are considered confidential, but the FMC is considering options for releasing aggregated statistics. Releasing such information would be consistent with the Evidence Act and can be done while protecting the underlying microdata. This requires new policies and procedures to be written and that process will be discussed.
