Abstract:
|
The 2018 Evidence Act called for the creation of the Advisory Committee on Data for Evidence Building (ACDEP) to advise the Director of OMB on how to promote the use of data for evidence building. To that end, it is to offer advice on a range of topics, such as data sharing, linkage and privacy. Developing a workable framework for a National Secure Data Service to support appropriate data access and linkage will be a critical part of this work. By the time of the 2022 JSM, the ACDEB will have released its report for the first year, and work toward the final report will be well underway. At that point as well, it should be better known what appetite there is on Capitol Hill and in the White House to offer the necessary concrete support to advance the infrastructure of official statistics. The panelists will address the progress to date and offer views on the way forward.
