Abstract:

We consider third-order likelihood inference for the parameters, quantiles and reliability function of the logistic distribution. The methods are based on refined likelihood ratio statistics. The theory was developed Fraser, Reid and Wu (1999). This theory involves conditioning and marginalization. The performance of the third order techniques is investigated and compared with the first order techniques using simulation. The results show that the third order techniques are far more accurate.
