Author(s): Tammy Massie*

Abstract:

Test of Equivalence has been used extensively since the 1980's in a variety of settings. One item that is critical when designing and implementing a study is the margin. Ideally it should be very narrow to ensure two items are "equivalent" however, in the real world this may challenging.

This presentation will discuss a real world situation in resources were extremely limited, testing was difficult and time consuming and a decision needed to be made quickly. Furthermore this process and product had extremely variable data making the selection of a margin quite challenging.

This session will discuss the highlights of the statistical plan as well as seek potential solutions as similar studies will be needed in the future.
