Abstract:

In this talk, we present a group spike-and-slab prior to infer and select parameters in varying coefficient models (VCM). VCM are a general class of models encompassing a large number of statistical models as special cases such as the generalized linear model, generalized additive models, dynamic generalized linear models or functional linear models. VCM are useful in the presence of an external variable (time, space) that modifies the effect of a variable of interest on the response. Here, we evaluate and compare our approach in the context of functional mapping using simulations and genetic data of Arabidopsis thaliana (L. Heynh), which motivated these developments.
