Abstract:

Statisticians working in the academic nursing field encounter many unique and interesting statistical challenges that arise when teaching statistics to nursing students and consulting/collaborating with nurse researchers. Nursing research includes investigating human health across the lifespan that considers biological, emotional, psychological, and sociological aspects of health and disease. The purpose of this session is to convene a panel of statisticians active in academic Nursing to discuss distinctive and challenging statistical topics that occur in teaching statistics to nursing students and consulting/collaborating with nurse scientists. The panelists are experienced statistics educators, consultants, and collaborators, with extensive experience teaching statistics to nursing students and involvement with a variety of nursing research studies.
