Abstract:

The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) turns 30 in 2021. Incorporated in 1991, with support from ASA, IMS, ENAR/WNAR, AAAS, and COPSS, and five research entities in North Carolina, NISS has evolved over the past three decades. The founders and leaders of NISS will describe the accomplishments in the first decade, the impact of the NISS/SAMSI years, and the recent initiatives that the NISS affiliates have pursued.
