Abstract:

With the advancement in technology, Data Visualization (DV) has been a topic of great interest for Industry, Academia, Education Training and Social platforms. Significant efforts are ongoing to harmonize the development and/or utilization of appropriate DV tools to enhance our ability to understand data. DV tools are being used for data interrogation to provide quick answers to complex questions with an intent to generate meaningful information for sharing with stakeholders and broader audience.

The focus of these efforts is expected to vary from sponsors, third parties or other players (e.g., open source) standpoint. As players, this panel will share their perspective on the underlying differences in the efforts from their viewpoint.

The differences in approaches undertaken by these players may include but not limited to developing DV tools from the scratch or enhancing capabilities of an existing DV tool rather than shifting to a new tool(even it is more advanced in certain ways) and spend resources to familiarize with the new tool.

This Panel’s goal will be to share how best to harmonize the overall effort to push DV to its maximum capability without introducing any bias.
