Title: Analytics Across the Curriculum
Author(s): Lan Nygren*

Keywords: Analytics; Curriculum; Education
Abstract:

This paper describes a freshly-minted Analytics Across the Curriculum (AAC) program at my institution. Analytics skills are just as important as writing and speaking skills to the success of a college graduate. The paper argues that the most effective way for college students to develop analytics skills is to integrate and infuse these skills into the major- or discipline- specific courses and co-curricular activities. The paper provides the details of the ideas behind the AAC concept, how to translate the ideas into programmatic action, and resources and tips faculty can use in building their own AAC programs. The goal of the paper is to call for a movement of Analytics Across the Curriculum following the former educational movements of Writing Across the Curriculum and Speaking Across the Curriculum.
