Abstract:

Business analytics has dramatically impacted the practice of business and the curriculum for colleges of business in the 21st century. Despite this trend, previous research using citation analysis and text analytics for the years 2000, 2005, and 2010 failed to show any increasing communication among statistics journals and prestigious business journals in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, management, marketing, or operations management. This paper extends the previous research to the year 2015 and looks at topic analysis and the changing trends among leading topics during this four year period. In addition to network analysis with two way communication between journal nodes, in this paper we examine just the frequency with which business journals cite statistics journals.
