Abstract:

Does student attendance have impact on their academic performances? Our research studied student attendance in Nebraska K-12 public schools using 10-year student-level data, and conducted a sensitivity analysis on the mixed effects model using test score, student attendance, student information, and school background. The result can assist in identifying the threshold for the percent of absent days above which the impact on student test scores necessitates intervention in schools.
