Abstract:

The Government Statistics Section (GSS) is pleased to announce a mentoring opportunity for early career professionals and graduate students via a breakfast Round Table. The mentoring session is designed to encourage diverse participation and a chance to engage with more senior, advanced-career members of the GSS community. GSS Mentors have experience across multiple government departments and agencies.

GSS Mentors: Wendy Martinez, ASA President-Elect (BLS) Barry Nussbaum, ASA Past-President (retired EPA) Stephanie Shipp, Deputy Director and Professor (UVA)

The GSS mentoring session will provide an opportunity for an informal "meet and greet" between GSS mentors and mentees, as well as organized mentor/mentee activities. Activities include a small group face-to-face time, a discussion of career options and job application processes, and general advice about government career paths and opportunities.

Students and young professionals within 5 years of their degree are eligible. GSS Mentor bios and Mentee application information can be found on the GSS website: https://community.amstat.org/governmentstatisticssection/professionaldevelopmentmentoring Due date: Jun 1st or full
