While our field is in the midst of massive growth and self-reflection, immense effort and attention has been paid to our coursework and programs. As it should be. However, what is or should be the new role of the statistics educator at the program, university, and national levels? How should we adapt our view of the profession beyond the classroom? We’ll discuss ideas for improving support and (access to) professional development and integration of statistics educators and their expertise into all aspects of Statistics & Data Science with some emphasis on engaging with industry and the relationship between research and education.
