Abstract:
|
As state voter ID laws change, it is important to have accurate measures of their impact and to explore whether the laws have a disparate impact on any demographic subgroups. In this talk, I will present the results of class projects that attempted to quantify the impact of voter ID laws in areas of three states. I will also address the types of data used to assess impact and the shortcomings of the usual techniques.
