Abstract:

Ernest Seglie's (and Nancy Spruill's) contributions to T&E through the NAS. Starting in 1994, Ernest Seglie and Nancy Spruill supported eight National Academy of Sciences panel and workshop studies on the role and nature of operational test and evaluation, including reliability methods, software methods, statistical methods for the operational test and evaluation of Stryker, statistical methods to be used with evolutionary acquisition, industrial engineering methods, and methods for designing reliability into defense systems. We quickly go over each of these projects and indicate what the major recommendations were.
