Abstract:

We will discuss an interactive activity that allows students to use the "dice" game Pass the Pigs to explore experimentally and theoretically how many tosses it takes before a player rolls a "pig out." In addition, we will extend this interactive activity and discuss how to utilize the Pass the Pigs game to explore confidence intervals and hypothesis tests for a proportion and the chi-square test.
