This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

Abstract:	Although conventional wisdom is that the Earth is not flat, we manage quite well with two-dimensional maps. This can provide guidance to students learning probability and statistics by showing them the role that models play in these fields. In the words of George Box, "All models are wrong. Some models are useful."
