Abstract:

This work describes methods for characterizing the network activity of users. This activity is defined in terms of the servers and services they access, and is temporal in nature. Graph theoretic ideas borrowed from the social networks literature are used, and the techniques are evaluated on a data set consisting of 30 users monitored over 5 months.
