Description

Given the rapidly increasing number of students studying statistics, there is more need than ever for preparing teachers well and for conducting research into how students learn statistics. In the field of Mathematics, these endeavors are greatly assisted by the large number of graduate programs in Mathematics Education that train teachers and researchers. However, while many institutions across the country offer graduate programs in Mathematics Education, very few if any have graduate programs in Statistics Education. This panel discussion will discuss plans to design and implement such programs at a variety of institutions.
