Description
This session is organized by International Indian Statistical Association with an objective to encourage and feature young statisticians. The nature of computations in medical and pharmaceutical statistics has undergone tremendous changes during last few years not only in terms of their complexities but also in terms of the approach. Keeping up with the theme of 2002 JSM, the session emphasizes the newer computational and methodological issues as they pertain to medical and pharmaceutical statistics. In terms of applications, the topics range from modeling human hormone growths, predicting the breast cancer survival, community health, and drug development. The new statistical and computational methodologies involved are modeling through GEE/QSS, generalized p values and Bayesian testing, metropolis and diffusion scheme, and recursive partitioning. This session featuring the innovative work of some very young and promising members of our profession is expected to be very popular and successful.
