Abstract:
|
The Census 2000 Housing Unit Coverage Study measured and evaluated the coverage of housing units enumerated in the Census 2000. Housing unit dual system estimates were calculated using data from the Accuracy and Coverage Evaluation to estimate the net coverage of housing units. Housing units in the population sample not matched to the census (census misses) and housing units erroneously included in the enumeration sample were also examined. These two components of the dual system estimate were evaluated separately to measure the completeness and accuracy of the Census Bureaus final address list containing all housing units existing in the United States as of April 1, 2000. This paper documents and evaluates net housing unit coverage, census misses and erroneous enumerations by occupancy status, size of basic street address, type of enumeration area, and other research categories.
