Abstract:

The Web can be used to complement and enhance the classroom. We discuss how and share our six-year experience using the Web in this fashion. The Web can free up classroom time for more in-depth discussion of hard concepts and, thus, increase student satisfaction and learning. The idea is to teach in the classroom those things that are best taught in the classroom and, on the Web, those things that are best taught on the Web. The Web is also helpful for class management--in particular, to make it easier for a student to remain on track and to increase communication between that professor and student.
