Abstract:

This presentation will cover the design goals and requirements of the pentop interviewing environment developed for the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) being conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics. It will also provide a technical overview of the hardware and software applications currently being used in this environment. A demonstration of the system will be provided where key applications will be shown, including: multimedia introduction to the study, screening, sampling, and interviewing. Lessons learned and future directions will also be discussed.
