Abstract:
|
Bayesian methods are no longer just for academic statisticians. Today, academics in other fields, and statisticians in government and industry are beginning to take advantage of what Bayesian methods have to offer. But how does our profession go about educating all these statistical practitioners? This talk will discuss experiences of teaching Bayesian methods to applied statisticians in industry and government and to researchers in medicine, epidemiology, and public policy. It will also advocate introduction of Bayesian concepts at the undergraduate level.
