Description

There is a growing interest to explore Bayesian methods in wide ranging applications. As a council of chapters session we want to attract a broad audience and looking for Bayesian applications that could make a difference in the socioeconomic, medical, public policy, etc arenas. The three speakers of this session Sanjib Basu, Alan E. Gelfand, and Dalane Stangl will cover diverse presentations on: Handling undercount in epidemiology and census using Bayes method; a unique approach to model house price data using Bayesian spatial process; and teaching of Bayesian statistical theory at many levels and how it can influence current and future practices.
