Statisticians have skill sets that can be applied to multiple disciplines and organizations. In this presentation, one statistician recalls and shares the commonalities and the differences in three different organizations he has been involved in as a manager of the analytic department. These industries are a non-profit governmental agency administering employee benefits, a publicly traded mining company and finally a privately held freight brokerage company. Diverse in many respects but very similar in other respects when it comes to analytics.
