Demand for statistical services has been increasing greatly over the last few years and is projected to continue increasing beyond capacity. The role of manager of statisticians (statisticians, data scientists, statistical programmers) therefore is becoming harder and more important. While anybody has the potential to become a great manager, popular management training materials may not speak to the personality types represented in the statistics fields. This talk gives practical advice, starting early in one's career, on how to develop the skills necessary to become a manager of statisticians.
